Activity Implementation Report – Two-Day Workshop on Disability Rights and Inclusion

A two-day consultation workshop was held in Hargeisa on 3–4 February 2026 by the UNTMIS Human Rights and Protection Group to promote the inclusion of persons with disabilities in Somaliland’s political and electoral processes.

The workshop brought together 44 participants from OPDs, civil society, the National Electoral Commission, and political actors to discuss barriers such as inaccessible polling stations and limited inclusive voter education, and to identify practical solutions. It strengthened awareness and coordination among stakeholders and led to the formation of an advocacy group and a WhatsApp platform for continued engagement.
