The Marginalized Group Action Network (MAGAN) was founded by community development activists, with the active participation of local communities, to address the challenges faced by marginalized groups in Somaliland.
The organization works to empower vulnerable populations through advocacy, awareness, and community-based initiatives.
MAGAN is committed to promoting human rights, strengthening community resilience, and advancing an inclusive and equitable society where marginalized groups can fully participate and thrive.

MAGAN supports over 1,000 households in three IDP camps in Somaliland by providing essential community-based services.
These include health support, maternal and child care, education assistance, WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) programs, community advocacy, and income-generating initiatives such as chicken farming for poor families.
Through these interventions, MAGAN aims to improve household wellbeing, strengthen resilience, and promote sustainable livelihoods among displaced and vulnerable communities.

The organization works to strengthen women’s leadership, enhance their socio-economic opportunities, and enable them to realize their full potential.
MAGAN also promotes gender equality and encourages women’s active participation in social, economic, and political life.

MAGAN promotes the rights and inclusion of persons with disabilities by providing capacity-building training programs that strengthen their socio-economic and political participation in Somaliland.
The organization supports disability awareness, advocates for equal access to services, and works to reduce discrimination while empowering persons with disabilities to actively contribute to community development and decision-making processes

the Mayor and MAGAN Network to discussed in supporting Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) through a dry land farming project, MAGAN presented an overview of the challenges faced by IDPs, such as limited livelihood opportunities and food security. we have shared a relevant statistics on the number of IDPs and the reasons for their displacement.
